Children’s Cancer Foundation (CCF) is one of the foremost organisations spreading awareness about childhood cancer. According to KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital, childhood cancer is relatively rare but around 90 to 100 children in Singapore are diagnosed with some form of cancer each year. It has been CCF’s mission to help improve lives of affected children and their families through enhancing their emotional, social and medical well-being.

Into its 14th year running, CCF is organising Hair for Hope on 30 and 31 July 2016, from 11am to 7pm (Saturday) and 11am to 6pm (Sunday) at VivoCity.

Through this symbolic gesture of shaving bald, CCF aims to:

1. Create awareness of childhood cancer in Singapore
2. Show children with cancer and their families that they are not alone in their fight against cancer
3. Tell children with cancer that it is OK to be bald
4. Raise funds to help children with cancer and their families
5. Build a community of support for children with cancer and their families
What are you waiting for? Join CCF as they raise awareness and encourage at least 6,500 participants to join this cause and raise funds to aid children and families impacted by cancer.
Visit our events page for more information or download the Hair for Hope 2016 information pack.

This year Singapore Committee for UN Women and the National Volunteer and Philanthropy Association (NVPC)  are joining forces to promote #GivingTuesdaySG as national day of giving one’s time, money, or voice.  #GivingTuesdaySG is on December 2, 2014 and was created to be a positive counter narrative to the consumerism of Black Friday and CyberMonday. We are calling on companies, college/social clubs, families, and groups of friends to organize a #GivingTuesdaySG initiative near you that benefits the mission of Singapore Committee for UN Women.

2013 Impact of Giving Tuesday within Singapore

There are a number of ways you can initiate a #GivingTuesdaySG initiative:

Loose Change for Real Change. Give your group the chance to get rid of that jar of unused change on their night stand by emptying them in your collection jar on Giving Tuesday! We will use the proceeds to fund real change in the funds in the lives of women and girls in Singapore.

Transform Girls2Pioneers! Your group can volunteer at one 3-4 hour day camp helping facilitate science-based challenges and activities that inspire girls to aim to be scientists.

Style it Forward. Encourage your group to donate their pre-loved suits, shoes, and/or designer fashion. We will sell the clothes at our annual sale "Buy to Save" and use the proceeds towards our campaigns to end violence against women.

Host a tote sale. Our team can set up a booth at your location where people can purchase our "Equality Tote," the perfect gift for the holidays! We can use this opportunity to raise awareness of our campaigns and solicit new Members as well.

Sponsor Empowerment. Hold a bake sale, or host a paid event (high tea, yoga session etc). Every penny counts! For just $35, ten refugee women in Thailand can receive comprehensive financial literacy training for one month. On the other hand, $50 covers the costs of sendingfive underprivileged girls to our STEM day camps.

Tailor made volunteer opportunity for you
Our team can work with you to create a volunteer experience based on your interest
