Lions Home For The Elders is having our Virtual Flag Day from 19 July to 17 September! Through this annual fundraising initiative, we hope to raise a target amount of $80,000 this year. Your generous donation will go a long way in supporting our over 350 elderly residents at our two Homes located at Bishan and Bedok South.

The funds raised will be channelled to covering the costs of our residents’ fees and expenses, so that they can continue to receive the dedicated and holistic care services that they need at Lions Home. In addition, Lions Home will also benefit through an additional funding scheme under the Enhanced Fund-Raising Programme by Tote Board, with a dollar-for-dollar matching for all fundraising initiatives in 2021. All donations are eligible for 2.5 times tax deduction.

Lions Home For The Elders has been providing a spectrum of elder care services, caregiver and family support since 1980, to assist families in meeting the challenges of caring for their ageing loved ones.

Do pass the word around and share this meaningful fundraiser with your friends and family! We hope you will consider supporting Lions Home For the Elders. To donate or know more about us, visit: https://lionshome.org.sg/support/fundraising/

The summit provides the participants, an international networking platform to exchange knowledge, and leverage media and corporate support in an effort to influence policy-makers and governments to promote clean sanitation and public health policies.

The summit will attract over 300 International and National /global experts from Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) sector, including delegates from leading corporate houses, Head of States and Ministries, Governors and Secretaries, Journalists, Government agencies, ULB’s, NGOs and social business delegates.

Date: 20 January 2019
Time: 11 am
Location: Marina Barrage

It has been very rewarding to see EarthFest grow year over year and now be celebrating its 4th edition on January 20, 2019! From its inception, it has been designed to be a genuinely sustainable festival and always tries to push the boundaries of what’s possible.

This year we'll have new vendors, new guest speakers in the talks by Green Is The New Black Asia, new performers, a new children's area by orgayana and are even bringing in a tiny house for you to explore :) In total, it'll be over 130 stalls - our biggest yet! This year we’re encouraging the new EarthLife - Happiness through Responsible Living habits:
Minimalism: Choosing experiences with friends and family over materialism lessens your footprint.
Plant-based: Eating lower on the food chain reduces greenhouse gases and land and water usage.
Zero Waste: Preventing waste is better than recycling.
Biophilia: Making time to foster a love of nature gives us a reason to care enough to protect it.
Advocacy: Donating our time or money to environmental causes is the only way change happens.
Carbon Positive: It’s time to go beyond carbon neutral to having our lives remove CO2 from the air.

We will have over 130 stalls this year and expand into a third floor. There will be something for everyone and all interests - all packaged in one of the most sustainable and beautiful venues in the world: Marina Barrage!
Excited? We are and hope you are too! We hope to see you on January 20, 2019 from 11 am to 4:30 pm for EarthFest!
The limited tickets are free and available at http://earthfestsingapore.com Those are just a few of the new things we've got brewing.

We'll be releasing all the details via EarthFest Singapore page. A big shout out to Singapore Press Holdings, LingZhi Vegetarian Restaurant, BlueSG and bio-home for sponsoring EarthFest this year!

From 25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, to 10 December, Human Rights Day, #16Days of Activism is a time to galvanise action to end violence against women and girls around the world.

For far too long, impunity, silence and stigma have allowed violence against women to escalate to pandemic proportions—one in three women worldwide experience gender-based violence.

The time for change is here and now.

Sun salutations, also known as surya namaskar in Sanskrit, is a series of 12 yoga postures that are linked by the breath in a single, graceful flow. The number 108 holds many symbolisms in various cultures, and it is believed that there is a total of 108 energy lines converging to and from the heart chakra.

Practise for a good cause by joining Iris Tan and Nicole Chew from Hom Yoga for a meditative flow of 108 Sun Salutations. All proceeds will go to the Singapore Committee for UN Women.

Date: 1 Dec 2018
Venue: HOM Yoga, Orchard Central, #06-12/13
Time: 12PM - 2PM
In partnership with HOM Yoga
