All volunteer work requires you to develop the central skills of team-working, communication and relationship-building, all of which are necessities in the job market. Beyond these core skills, volunteering can also provide the opportunity to develop and use skills in anything from administration, IT, PR, project management, fundraising, campaigning, writing and customer service to gardening, catering, driving… the list goes on.
5. I have other commitments as e.g. a full-/part-time job, family and children to take care of. How much time do I need to invest for doing volunteer work?
Time commitments vary according to the project you choose to volunteer. It will be included in the position description. You can then decide if the time commitment is suitable and find the right volunteer opportunity for you.

8. What happens next when I have submitted my application form?
Once you have applied for a volunteer position we send your contact details within max. of 2 days to the respective organisation. The organisation will get in contact with you for further conversations and information. The decision of engaging you as volunteer is up to the respective organisation.
9. I would like to volunteer but I don’t know which volunteer position is best for me. Can I get consultation in any way?
Yes, you can get advice from us. Please contact info@expatgiving.org with your request and someone will get back to you via email.
10. In case I am getting too busy and can’t volunteer anymore. Can I unsubscribe from your volunteer position list/ eBulletin?
Yes, you can unsubscribe or change your personal details any time, but we would appreciate if you stay in contact with us and can recommend us to your family, friends or colleagues.
11. I am not an expat, but I am willing to volunteer. Is that possible?
Of course! We created Expatgiving to raise awareness and tap into the expat community, but everyone is welcome.
