ACRES (Animal Concerns Research and Education Society) is an animal protection organisation, driven by concern for animals. With their research findings they educate the public to promote active community involvement in the animal protection movement.

Requirements & Description

minimum age of volunteers 14 and above
being comfortable handling reptiles such as tortoise & turtles
preparing food for animals
cleaning up enclosure & provide enrichment
Dress code: long pants, t-shirt & covered shoes (rubber shoes are highly recommended)
In house protocol: Only vegetarian food is allowed to be consumed within ACRES premises - strictly no meat or seafood

Description:
ACRES (Animal Concerns Research & Education Society) is a pioneering Singapore-based charity and Institution of Public Character, founded by Singaporeans in 2001 with the aim of advocating an end to animal cruelty in Asia. ACRES is registered as an International NGO in Australia.We have six focus areas: Tackling Wildlife Crime, Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation, Addressing Zoo Animal Welfare, Humane Education, Community Outreach and Promoting Cruelty-Free Living.

Key responsibilities:

As a Wildlife Sanctuary Volunteer, you will help to look after the rehabilitating reptiles that ACRES has rescued in the Wildlife Sanctuary.
Your day as a care-giver for them will include food preparation, daily feeding, enclosure cleaning, providing enrichment for the reptiles and maintaining their enclosures.

Requirements:

Minimum age of volunteers 14 and above
Being comfortable in handling reptiles such as tortoise & turtles
Able to work outdoor (under the sun or rain)
Working hours: 9:30am to 5pm
Commitment: Minimum 2 shifts per month, and to volunteer for at least duration of 3 months.
Volunteers per shift: max 2
Dress code: long pants, t-shirt & covered shoes (rubber shoes are highly recommended)
In house protocol: Only vegetarian food is allowed to be consumed within ACRES premises - strictly no meat or seafood
