The Singapore Committee for UN Women is looking for volunteer translators in Thai, Vietnamese, Burmese, Tagalog, Punjabi, and Bahasa Indonesia to support our Help Anna campaign.
About Help Anna
The Help Anna campaign focuses on Ending Violence Against Women and Girls in Singapore through various initiatives such as the Her Justice Workshops. These workshops aim at raising legal awareness of women from all backgrounds, including foreign domestic workers (FDWs), foreign mothers, expat wives, Singaporean women and other groups.
The workshops usually run for 1.5 hours, during the evening, and consist of a presentation given by a volunteer lawyer, followed by a Q&A session. Translators Needed
To reach out to the most vulnerable women from at-risk communities, we are looking for volunteer translators to ensure that participants in the workshops understand the content of the presentation and are able to ask questions about their own situations.
Basic Volunteer Requirements
- Knowledge of either Thai, Vietnamese, Burmese, Tagalog, Punjabi,and Bahasa Indonesia
- Ability to translate basic legal concepts
- Availability in the evenings on weekdays
